Pretty Likes Purple

I love watching the sun begin to set in a purple-y ski creating an ombre effect with a deep violet sky fades to a soft lavender at the horizon. These D&G Sunglasses ( Endless, $135 ) recreated that effect during even the brightest times of day.

I love purple, but wearing it everyday or wearing an entirely purple outfit can be a bit much. (Though that doesn't stop me). To really make purple stand out, it's helpful to have an eye-catching signature piece like this vintage costume ring fashioned from a fabulous Amethyst Glass Banquette surrounded by little faux pearls. My New Years Eve dress was supposed to be green this year, but the zipper broke so I headed to Marshall's hoping they could save my debut into 2011. I came home with two options--one purple, one black. Sadly the black one won the battle so I'll have to rely on purple tights orp party shoes to add my favorite color to the mix. I'm a huge fan of Damsel In This Dress on Etsy. (I've featured them a few times on Fashion Me Fabulous ). I swear I'm going to buy one of these fabulous corsets someday. Korto Momolu remains one of my all-time favorite Project Runway contestants. I was shocked when she didn't win her season ( seat belt coat! ) and further shocked when she didn't win the all-stars reunion competition . I'm very happy to see her gaining post-Project Runway success with projects like her line for Dillards.  I'm also very happy to see she's created a perfect purple purse. The Korto Momolu North-South Satchel comes in purple and creme (but you should buy the purple) for $97.30 (reduced from $139).

If this Vintage Lilac Floral Dress happened to be my size, I might be $35 poorer right now. I love the randomly placed flowers on the soft lilac background. The drawstring waist makes for what looks to be a very comfortable summer frock. It helps that I like the name of the shop too-- Purple Deer Vintage .

My fellow blogger at Fashion Me Fabulous , Jael Paris, spotted these Naturalizer Mary Janes at the super steal price of $29.99 from $79, which forced me to purchase them. (I joined their eClub for an extra $10 off!) They aren't quite purple. They're more of a grey/periwinkle, but pick up any purple hue you pair with them. They're quite comfy too!
